About John
John’s career highlights include pivotal roles at Barclays Corporate Bank and Nationwide Building Society. At Barclays, he served as Director of Operations Technology, Director of UK Payments, and Director of Payments Investigations.
At Nationwide, he was the Group Director of Payments, reporting to the Executive Committee, and developed and led the overall payments strategy, IT services, and payment operations, ensuring future-proof technology and resiliency.
John has extensive experience with regulatory bodies, working with UK and European regulators like the FCA, PSR, CMA, and EBA on programs such as PSD2 and Open Banking. He has also held leadership roles at financial associations including Vocalink, P20, UK Finance, Payments UK and the Faster Payments Company.
John studied Applied Biosciences at Glasgow Caledonian University and earned professional certifications in Leadership and Business Management from the Open University, as well as a BSc open degree. He is a PRINCE2 and AGILE Practitioner.
Before joining Positive Momentum, John was President and Global COO of the Juiceplus+ Company, managing a $250m EMEA P&L and overseeing global functions such as Payments, Fraud, Regulatory Compliance, IT, Contact Centres, People & Culture, and Real Estate.
Outside of work, John enjoys running and the gym and tries to play football on a Monday evening with other failed dreamers! He also is actively involved in renovating houses and serves as Chairman of the UK national charity Streetscene.
