Tessa’s career spans over 30 years in journalism and corporate communications, advising private, public, and non-profit organisations on strategic communications which deliver the brand awareness, profile and reputation needed to realise their vision and objectives.
Recently in-house, at FTSE-100 global betting and gaming group Entain plc, Tessa delivered an award-winning reputational turnaround with a positive story based around sustainability and growth to support a re-brand and new business strategy.
Previously Tessa has advised on building profile, managing reputational risk and delivering impactful storytelling for organisations including the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. She led strategic communications successfully launching Clearpay as the key UK rival to Klarna for buy-now-pay-later and helped restore the reputation of Benetton Group after a notorious factory collapse in Bangladesh. She has also raised the global profile of professional services firms including Odgers Berndtson and Egon Zehnder, both global leaders in executive search, and the international law firm Gowling WLG.
Tessa began her career in PR and communications at Weber Shandwick Worldwide, a leading international public relations consultancy which is part of Interpublic Group. As Managing Director of the Corporate Communications and Financial Communications practices, she advised and led teams for global clients including Coca Cola EMEA.
Originally a business journalist, Tessa was City Correspondent of The Daily Telegraph prior to becoming BBC Business Correspondent, where she led coverage of business for national TV and radio news and flagship programmes, including Today and Newsnight.
Tessa lives in London with her family and enjoys art, theatre and sport. A keen runner and tennis player, she loves travel and languages – and speaks Italian and French
