There is a layer of people in every organisation that are either a source of inertia or momentum. Generically described as leaders, they go by many (sometimes very grand) titles and when you’ve got a good one, boy do you know it. Rather too often however well-meaning people are given leadership roles (by other well-meaning people) simply because they were good at the task, the theory being that this will make them good leaders. We all recognise the delusion and yet it keeps repeating itself.
Since 2003 we’ve been privileged to work with hundreds of thousands of leaders from all over the world and the one thing we’ve learnt is that leadership development is best when it’s contextual. We are former leaders working with leaders. We know it isn’t easy but we’re very good listeners and many have said we’re even better educators.
